Remote BCBA Supervision FAQs

Yes. Our caregiver-training practice provides structured, practice-approved activities that can be applied across the families we serve. You tailor the work to your assigned caregiver, with guidance from your ongoing BCBA.

The activities give you a practical foundation for a full monthly fieldwork plan. You can also propose your own client-specific activities and request your BCBA’s approval before completing them for fieldwork.

Practice approval is not a separate BACB endorsement. Activities remain part of your individualized supervision plan.

Yes. The program has a dedicated portal for resources and supervision account access. Expanded communication, fieldwork documentation, and review features are being completed and will be introduced as they become available.

Use Portal sign in in the navigation to access your account. Prospective trainees can request program information before enrollment.

Our online BCBA supervision program is fully remote. After onboarding, we assign you a caregiver-training client through our practice. You then begin fieldwork activities tailored to that client.

You record your caregiver meetings for asynchronous observation. Your BCBA reviews the recording afterward and provides individualized feedback during a separate, live supervision meeting. We do not use real-time client observation.

The BACB allows the required observation with a client to occur asynchronously through recorded video. Supervisor-trainee contacts, however, must occur in real time to count as supervision contacts.

Trainee supervision fees fund the caregiver support provided through our practice. That structure allows future BCBAs to complete meaningful fieldwork while helping families receive services at no cost.

Families do not need insurance, a qualifying diagnosis, prior authorization, or the ability to pay. Applied Behavior Analysts was built to address two problems together: families need access to behavior science, and future BCBAs need supervised opportunities to learn how to use it responsibly.

Yes. Clients are provided through our behavior-analytic practice, so you do not need to locate your own client or obtain an RBT position to participate.

We assign one primary caregiver-client. Matching depends on scheduling, service location, availability, and where your BCBA is licensed or otherwise authorized to practice. You can focus on developing your skills instead of searching for a placement.

No. The caregiver is the client. Trainees meet remotely with the caregiver and do not provide direct therapy to the caregiver’s child through this program.

Caregivers may be parents, teachers, daycare providers, behavior specialists, or people supporting loved ones across the lifespan. A diagnosis is not guaranteed or required. The fieldwork centers on listening, analyzing behavior, communicating the science clearly, offering practical next steps, following up, and adjusting support under BCBA supervision.

Restricted hours generally involve directly implementing therapeutic or instructional procedures with a client. Unrestricted hours are activities that reflect what a BCBA does, such as assessment, data analysis, treatment planning, caregiver training, research, and behavior-analytic decision-making.

Our caregiver-training model is predominantly unrestricted and can support up to 100% unrestricted fieldwork. Restricted fieldwork is not required by this program. Your assigned BCBA will help you plan client-specific activities and documentation that meet the requirements applicable to you.

No. You do not need an RBT credential or an RBT position to participate in our remote BCBA supervision program.

Your fieldwork must still meet the degree, coursework, activity, supervision, documentation, and eligibility requirements that apply to you when you submit your BCBA application.

As of September 2026, our remote BCBA fieldwork supervision program is available to candidates in all 50 states.

Availability depends on the candidate’s location, the assigned client’s service location, and where the supervising BCBA is licensed or otherwise authorized to practice. We match clients and supervisors before onboarding.

Your supervision rate depends on the total fieldwork hours you plan to complete each month:

• 60–99 monthly fieldwork hours: $150 per supervised hour.
• 100 or more monthly fieldwork hours: $140 per supervised hour.

Your total monthly cost depends on your standard or concentrated fieldwork track, your total monthly fieldwork hours, and the BACB requirements applicable to you.

Clients, individualized BCBA guidance, client-specific unrestricted activities, asynchronous review of recorded caregiver meetings, supervision contracts, monthly forms, documentation guidance, and final fieldwork verification documents are included.

Your supervision fees also fund the completely free caregiver services provided to families through our practice.

Your BCBA asynchronously reviews your recorded caregiver meetings, evaluates your client-specific work, and provides feedback based on your individual strengths and learning needs.

Guidance may address caregiver coaching, assessment, research, data analysis, treatment planning, documentation, communication, and behavior-analytic decision-making. You receive clear feedback about what went well, what should change, and what to do next with your assigned client.

Unrestricted BCBA fieldwork focuses on the work a behavior analyst does for a specific client. Depending on your client’s needs and your supervisor’s approval, activities may include:

• Conducting assessments and researching literature related to your client’s needs.
• Analyzing data and the environmental factors that affect behavior.
• Developing caregiver-support and treatment plans.
• Creating caregiver-training resources.
• Preparing for caregiver meetings and reviewing them afterward.
• Reviewing recordings of your own performance.
• Writing behavior-analytic documentation.
• Taking part in planning and decision-making.
• Receiving and applying feedback from your BCBA.

Every fieldwork activity must be behavior analytic, client specific, and approved by your supervisor. The BACB determines whether activities count based on their context and relationship to client services, not merely the name of the activity.

Caregiver meetings and BCBA supervision meetings are scheduled separately around each person’s availability.

The amount of required supervision and number of monthly contacts depend on your fieldwork track, total monthly fieldwork hours, and the BACB requirements applicable to you.

Many unrestricted activities can be completed independently during the day, evening, or weekend. We confirm your expected monthly hours, supervision commitment, and scheduling needs before you begin.

We provide a supervision contract, monthly verification forms, individualized tracker guidance, review of fieldwork entries, documentation feedback, and final fieldwork verification documents.

These systems are designed to help you maintain organized, accurate records and prepare for a possible BACB audit. They do not guarantee that the BACB will accept every activity, hour, form, or document.

Trainees remain responsible for maintaining accurate fieldwork records, and the BACB makes all final eligibility and audit determinations. The BACB emphasizes maintaining complete fieldwork documentation in preparation for a possible audit.

Yes. You can complete BCBA supervision hours online through a remote supervision arrangement that meets BACB fieldwork requirements.

Our remote BCBA supervision program provides the client or caregiver you will work with, individualized supervision from a BCBA, and opportunities to complete predominantly unrestricted BCBA fieldwork. Supervision meetings and other eligible fieldwork activities can be completed remotely within the structure of the program.
